About Us

Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for members to create relationships and refer business to each other, without imposing unnecessary restrictions or expenses. Our current policies and procedures are listed below.

Each meeting begins with members giving a 30-second introduction of their business.

The next block of time is given to one or two members for 10 minutes each to highlight a facet of their business and convey better understanding of types of leads are their best business builders. Leads and referrals come from a relationship built on trust and confidence, so new members may use their ten minutes to more fully introduce themselves to fellow members. Our current facilities generously shares internet access and technology with us, so it’s very easy to do PowerPoint presentations or show videos and websites.

Then we pass referrals, leads and to share other promotional activities that members have performed during the week (such as MOMs – meetings outside of meetings.) This is the best part!

We end with a brief business meeting.

Network leadership rotates every six months with the exception of the Vice-President, who automatically assumes the role of President after his/her six months as VP. We also have committees to handle concerns such as Membership and Publicity.

Members are expected to attend regularly; 12 absences a year are permitted, unless extenuating circumstances apply. We allow only 1 person/business to fill the slot for each business category. A member who is unable to attend regularly may have a coworker fill in as proxy to maintain the mission of networking within our group and maintain an acceptable attendance record. A member that does not attend regularly not only misses out on valuable leads and networking opportunities, but deprives the group of a productive member that would be an active participant for that business category.

We occasionally cancel meetings (such as near the holidays, or if an event such as the Business Showcase is on the same day as our meeting) or hold meetings at member’s businesses, so please contact a member before attending.

If you represent a company with a business opportunity attached, such as a direct sales/network marketing company, you are NOT permitted to promote the opportunity itself as a member of SMBN. Only your product or service.
